Dear Neighbor,

As you know, over the past year President Trump and his administration have engaged in brazen executive overreach, including through the implementation of an arbitrary and reckless tariff scheme that has caused prices to skyrocket for families across the country. That is why the decision announced by the Supreme Court last Friday was so critically important.

As the Chair of the House Litigation Task Force, I’ve been leading the effort against the Trump administration’s unlawful tariffs for the past 10 months, fighting against them every step of the way — from the district court, to the U,S. Court of International Trade, and finally, the Supreme Court. And on Friday, the highest court in the land agreed, striking down President Trump’s tariff authority as violative of Federal law. The ruling was not only a victory for the American people, but for our constitutional order. 

Moving forward, I’ll keep fighting to ensure this administration refunds to consumers the significant costs that have made life so much more expensive. Our work continues! 

The best part of my job is visiting with constituents, which is why I was so grateful to spend time meeting with folks the past few days in Fort Collins, Louisville, Boulder, and many other communities in between! 

Many thanks to everyone who attended our “Congress on YOUR Corner” event last week in Old Town Fort Collins. I appreciated the countless constituents who stopped by on a Sunday afternoon to share their ideas and concerns — no pre-screened questions, or attendees, just honest conversations about the challenges facing our country and the work we must do together to overcome them. 

I was also delighted to have the opportunity to share messages of gratitude to veterans at a senior center in Louisville as part of our annual Valentines for Veterans event. Deeply appreciative of the students, teachers, and community members across Colorado’s Second Congressional District who participated.

And finally, as we mark 4 years since Russia began its brutal war against Ukraine, I was grateful to join the Ukrainians of Colorado at CU-Boulder for a new museum exhibit documenting the terrible toll of the war, and to reaffirm our support for our Ukrainian allies.

This Black History Month, it was an honor to participate in multiple events uplifting incredible civic leaders who’ve made an indelible impact on our state. I was grateful to join the Boulder community in celebrating the “Bench by the Road” dedicated to Mrs. Mildred and Dr. Charles Nilon — CU Boulder’s first Black Librarian and first Black Professor. And I also was honored to present our Community Service award, named after the late Gloria Tanner — the first Black woman elected to the Colorado State Senate — to Bianka Emerson and Anna Jo Haynes, two inspiring civic leaders. 

• ⛷️Congratulations to our Colorado Olympians! Colorado is home to the most Olympians sent to Team USA this year, and the Second District alone has 24 competitors! I am so proud to represent a district of such dedicated, decorated individuals who are so passionate about sports and representing our country. This year, I honored them with a resolution called Supporting the United States Olympic and Paralympic Teams in the 2026 Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games — thank you for shining a bright light on the Second Congressional District in Colorado! • 👥Team Neguse was out and about this week! Our staff was honored to speak at a Naturalization Ceremony at Dunn Elementary in Fort Collins. They also hosted monthly Mobile Office Hours in Fort Collins to chat with constituents about issues they may have with a federal agency (keep an eye out for these events HERE).
