Dear Neighbor,

Last week, I was elected by my colleagues in the House Democratic Caucus to serve as Assistant Minority Leader of the U.S. House of Representatives. I am deeply honored and humbled to be a part of the leadership team and to continue working to address the pressing issues facing our communities.

As a proud Westerner, I will do all I can to ensure that the hardworking people of Colorado and folks from across the Rocky Mountain West have a seat at the table—ensuring that voices from every corner of our state are elevated, included, and heard.

I am proud to announce that our bill to help cut through red tape and ensure families can more easily access critical disaster assistance programming has been signed into law. The Disaster Assistance Deadlines Alignment Act was written with households across Colorado in mind, and now enacted, it will work to provide support for families and communities impacted by natural disasters. I was excited to see President Biden act swiftly to sign this bill into law.
