Earlier this month, as House Assistant Minority Leader, I was joined by leaders on the House Veterans’ Affairs Committee for a press conference highlighting the importance of continuing the fight to improve access to health care and benefits for veterans and their survivors.
One of the main topics of discussion: The monumental progress made by the Honoring our PACT Act. Nearly two years ago, I was proud to vote for and help successfully enact this historic legislation that cuts through red tape for the brave Americans that were exposed to toxins and developed certain illnesses during their time in service.
The PACT Act was, and continues to be, the largest expansion of veterans benefits in a generation. In Colorado’s 2nd Congressional District, we are proud to have nearly 28,561 veterans, and 1,578 folks have already filed PACT Act claims through the Veterans Affairs.
