Dear Neighbor,

Coloradans know the that the best way to build a better future is to roll up our sleeves, listen to each other & work together. Since first being elected to Congress, my team and I have endeavored to do precisely that — by leading locally, listening to constituents at our frequent town halls and working towards the common good. And I’m honored to announce that our work together is being recognized nationally — a recent report indicated that in the 117th Congress we enacted more laws than any other Member of the U.S. House of Representatives! From providing more resources to our rural schools, supporting small businesses growth, expanding wildfire resiliency and more, each of these laws will deliver for the people of our great state.

Colorado's Joe Neguse leads U.S. House with most bills signed into law last Congress

This US representative from Colorado passed the most bills in Congress last term

Our 2022 GovTrack Report Card showed that our office:

Enacted the most laws of all 435 Members of Congress;
Had the most bills with bicameral support;
And had the 3rd-highest number of bills introduced overall – 99 bills and resolutions.

The 13 Laws we penned last Congress lower costs, create better-paying jobs, and build safer communities. We enacted bills like the Amache National Historic Site Act, bills to better support forest and grassland restoration projects, and bills to support rural and mountain communities. In June of last year, we announced the successful enactment of three bills to strengthen American supply chains, small businesses, and cybersecurity. And we also pursued legislation with a focus on promoting fair business and good governance.

VISITING WITH Farmers AND LOCAL LEADERS

Last week, I had the opportunity to meet with local farmers in Boulder and Weld Counties as part of the ‘From Our Lands to Your Hands’ event and discuss with them the challenges facing one of the most important industries in our state. Next up, I also hosted a community roundtable with folks in Gilpin County. From public lands and conservation, to small businesses and public safety—we had much to discuss!

WHAT ELSE HAVE WE BEEN WORKING ON?

Agricultural producers and private landowners can begin applying for the Conservation Reserve Program (CRP). The CRP is a voluntary conservation program offered by the USDA that addresses climate change and helps agricultural communities invest in the long-term well-being of their land and natural resources. Landowners and producers interested in CRP should contact their local USDA Service Center to learn more or to apply for the program.
We officially launched our office’s Annual Congressional Art Competition! Parents and students in Colorado’s 2nd district, if you or someone you know is interested in applying, please find more information at Neguse.house.gov.
