You have my word, no matter how long the government shutdown continues, my team will keep making every effort to show up in each and every community — speaking with those affected, assisting families in need, and rallying with the organizations that are helping keep our neighbors above water. 

👂This week, as Speaker Johnson extended Republicans’ seven week vacation, WE hosted another Congress on Your Corner pop-up, this time in Superior, to hear directly from concerned constituents. 

🍎As the Trump administration turn their backs on families in need of critical food assistance, I visited local food banks — including the Sister Carmen Food Pantry — to thank volunteers for their dedication to serving Coloradans, especially during this unprecedented time. 

👥And while Republicans inflict stress and suffering on hardworking people, we are spending time at places like the Fort Collins Senior Center, hearing directly from those most affected by skyrocketing health care costs and more.

The people of Colorado deserve better. It’s time my colleagues come to the table and work with us to find a bipartisan solution that reopens the government, lowers health care costs, and ensures November SNAP benefits are paid in full.

Our office has always been committed to leading locally — and even in these difficult times, that commitment remains strong.

This past week, I was grateful to speak with the CU Boulder Masters of the Environment (MENV) Class of 2025. I’m continually inspired by their dedication to protecting our planet and building a more sustainable future for generations to come.

On Wednesday, I met with leaders from across our district at our recurring Commissioners and Mayors meetings to hear about the state of our communities. Following those conversations — and after years of supporting efforts to bring the upcoming Sundance Film Festival to Boulder — I was honored to speak at the ribbon-cutting for the renovation of the historic Boulder Theatre, an iconic institution that has long served as a gathering place for creativity, conversation, and community.

As President Trump continues to cut holes in the country’s natural disaster safety net, I’m proud to champion the Measuring the Cost of Disasters Act. A bill to reverse the Trump administration’s reckless decision to terminate the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA)’s extreme weather database.

NOAA’s extreme weather database has been essential in providing information about the cost of rebuilding communities affected by tragedy — wildfires, floods, and hurricanes — and it’s critically important we reverse this reckless directive and restore this vital database.
