Dear Neighbor, It is wonderful to be back home in Colorado, connecting with folks across our district. From hosting town halls to meeting with small business owners and community leaders, I’ve had the chance to hear directly from so many of you—and I wanted to share a few highlights from our events. In case you haven’t seen yet, please watch this video to see some of those moments. As you may know, the turnout for our town hall in Louisville a few weeks ago, was so large (over 1,000 people!) that the building quickly reached full capacity. Over last weekend, we were grateful to hold a make-up town hall with Senator Michael Bennet for folks who did not get a chance to attend the first one. Thank you to all who attended and for making your voice heard. We'll continue to host these critical community-wide conversations from county to county (including next week in Eagle and Routt counties!), and I hope you can make it to our next town hall!

Dear Neighbor,

From hosting town halls to meeting with small business owners and community leaders, I’ve had the chance to hear directly from so many of you—and I wanted to share a few highlights from our events. I was also excited to speak with students at Fairview High School during our student town hall. From climate change to gun violence prevention to college affordability, our students are thinking deeply about the key policy challenges that will shape their future. It was inspiring to see our next generation of leaders ask such thoughtful questions and be engaged with our democracy.

CELEBRATING CREATIVITY

Each year, it is an honor to host the annual Congressional Art Competition for students across the 12 counties that make up Colorado's 2nd District. This week, we were honored to welcome students, parents, and educators from across the district to the Longmont Museum for our Congressional Art Competition—celebrating the creativity and talent of our incredible young artists.

Every piece of art that was prepared took a lot of effort and heart by the students and we're all grateful for their participation this year.

UPLIFTING YOUTH LEADERSHIP

I want to extend a big thank you and congratulations to the students who have served with great dedication on our Youth Advisory Committee for Colorado's 2nd Congressional District. At this week’s annual Youth Advisory Summit, our council members showcased thoughtful, solution-driven projects aimed at improving our community and tackling everyday challenges. It was a tremendous honor to hear from our country’s future leaders.

WHAT ELSE HAVE WE BEEN WORKING ON?

  • Grateful to meet with business leaders at the Boulder Chamber to hear firsthand about the challenges they’re facing and how we can work together to support them.

  • Last week, I was excited to meet with Aadi of Boulder County at the U.S. Capitol, who won our 2025 Congressional App Challenge. Drawing from his family's experience with the Marshall Fire, he built an app that notifies folks of areas at risk of wildfires. Well done Aadi!

  • Team Neguse was grateful to host mobile office hours in Kremmling for folks in Grand County who may need assistance with federal casework. Please stay tuned for our next mobile office hours near you!

  • ATTN Marshall Fire Victims: As folks continue rebuilding efforts in the aftermath of the Marshall Fire, please take a moment to review upcoming deadlines for financial incentives and recovery program closures. See program information and deadlines HERE.
