Dear Neighbor,
As you know, on Monday a new Administration began in Washington D.C. Suffice to say, it has been a very tumultuous week for the country. However, I want to assure you that regardless of which party controls the White House or the Congress, my top priority as your Representative will always remain the same — championing our shared values and priorities, finding common ground for the benefit of all Coloradans, and defending our constitutional republic.
While I will always work to achieve bipartisan consensus to make progress that benefits everyone, I will not hesitate to defend our values, the rule of law, and our communities. To me, that means condemning the President’s decision to pardon individuals who assaulted police officers during the attack on our nation’s Capitol on January 6th, and his efforts to eliminate FEMA or condition disaster aid based on political grounds.

Strength is often found not just in our shared values, but in how we navigate our differences — and with that in mind, it’s no surprise that many of our legislative achievements in the 118th Congress were the result of partnerships and collaboration with lawmakers from across the political spectrum. Looking ahead, I remain steadfast in my commitment to pursuing solutions to Colorado’s most pressing challenges, always putting the needs of our communities first. But before we close the book on the 118th Congress, I want to take a moment to reflect on the work we’ve accomplished together for the people of Colorado’s 2nd Congressional District:
Over the course of the past two years, I was proud to collaborate with local leaders and colleagues from both sides of the aisle to enact 12 bipartisan bills into federal law, addressing critical issues such as wildfires, disaster recovery, and climate change. We also introduced over 100 original bills, with 19 passing the House of Representatives and 14 advancing through various committees. These efforts would not have been possible without the invaluable input and ideas shared by constituents from across the 2nd District — many of which we gathered during our 20 town hall meetings.
Team Neguse was also hard at work assisting individuals and families across the 2nd District in navigating issues with federal agencies and securing critical benefits. During the last Congress, we hosted over 15 mobile office hours, assisted nearly 4,000 community members with congressional casework, attended over 1,072 community meetings events, and returned $16.9 million to constituents.
And finally, thanks to our strong advocacy for Colorado via the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law, CHIPS & Science Act, Community Project Grants, and other legislative initiatives, we secured over $1.8 billion in federal funding for Colorado’s 2nd Congressional District. These investments support essential projects across our towns and cities, including transportation and public safety improvements, wildfire resiliency and mitigation, drought prevention, advancing technological innovation, and much more.
Our work continues!

With February fast approaching, I’m excited to invite folks across our community to participate in Valentine's for Veterans, an opportunity to show our veterans how much we appreciate their dedication and service to our country with handmade cards.
If you are interested in making Valentine's cards for local veterans to show them how much we appreciate their service and sacrifice, please feel free to drop off or mail your note at one of our office locations! We will hand-deliver each Valentine by Valentine’s Day to veterans and veteran-serving organizations throughout the 2nd District.
NOTE: Participating schools may contact our office at 303-335-1045 to arrange a pick-up.

- In the coming weeks, Team Neguse is excited to host our first of many mobile office hours for the year. If you currently have issues with a federal agency, these office hours are a great opportunity to receive assistance! Please feel free to RSVP to schedule a time slot with a member of our team at these locations.
- Each year, I am deeply humbled to present the annual Gloria T. Tanner Congressional Award to a Coloradan who demonstrates a record of leadership and outstanding community service, just as Senator Tanner has throughout her distinguished career. If someone comes to mind, I hope you can nominate them by February 7 HERE.
- This week marked 42 years of celebrating Martin Luther King Jr. Day, and I am grateful to the Lafayette Youth Advisory Board for hosting their annual event and for having my wife, Andrea, help commemorate this meaningful occasion!

Should you need any assistance from our office, please do not hesitate to reach out. Please stay safe, stay healthy, and stay hopeful! Sincerely,
