Dear Neighbor, Over the past week I’ve had an opportunity to visit with countless folks across our congressional district — from Longmont to Fort Collins, Georgetown to Avon, and many places in between! In every interaction, I’m reminded how truly lucky I am to represent such an incredible and engaged community, and how high the stakes are for all of us as we work together to navigate incredibly difficult challenges facing our republic right now.  A few days ago, I was privileged to meet with local leaders in Clear Creek, Summit and Eagle Counties to discuss a wide range of issues, including the impact of tariffs on local small businesses and the tourism industry, the I-70 Floyd Hill project and our work to address challenges concerning rural mail delivery in Avon and beyond.

Dear Neighbor,

I also had the opportunity to visit with clinicians and physicians at the Avon Integrated Health Center to discuss the devastating healthcare impacts Trump’s reckless budget bill — now law — will have on the clinic, as well as folks in our rural and mountain communities. Please know, I’m committed to fighting back against these cuts to vital community lifelines and will continue to work with my colleagues to navigate a better path forward.

PROTECTING OUR PUBLIC LANDS AND WATER

Earlier this summer, I was proud to build a bipartisan coalition that helped stop Senator Mike Lee’s attempt to sell off our cherished public lands. And over this past weekend, I joined the League of Conservation Voters, the Wilderness Society, and folks from across Colorado in Boulder to re-engage in the fight and discuss the battles ahead to protect our treasured public lands.

I also recently led an effort to urge the Department of the Interior and Bureau of Reclamation to release $140 million in federal funding for 15 critical water projects across the state — including the Shoshone Water Right Preservation project in our district—to help us confront the growing Colorado River crisis.

WHAT ELSE HAVE WE BEEN WORKING ON?

  • 🧑🏾‍🌾 This Saturday, I stopped by the Boulder County Farmers Market in Longmont! Over the last month, it has been incredible to chat with constituents at the Larimer, Boulder, and now Longmont Markets at our constituent services booth! 🚨REMINDER: Our district offices provide direct assistance with federal agencies. So, if you can't get an answer from a federal agency in a timely fashion, or if you feel you have been treated unfairly, our office may be able to help resolve a problem or get you the information you need. See our website for more information HERE.

  • 🚒I was grateful to join the Loveland Fire Rescue for its “hose uncoupling” ceremony to kick-off its new Health and Wellness Center! This new center will provide much-needed preventative care for firefighters. Hear from the Fire Chief on how we helped this project get across the finish line with our Community Project Funding and how it will serve first responders and communities across Northern Colorado HERE and below!

Please stay safe, stay healthy, and stay hopeful!

Sincerely,
