As we work to continue delivering results for the people of Colorado, lowering costs remains my top priority. In January, President Trump and Congressional Republicans promised to lower costs on day one — but with the Thanksgiving holiday right around the corner, folks across Colorado are facing skyrocketing costs on everything from groceries to utilities to healthcare.
Our communities deserve far better.
As you know, in the coming year health care bills for folks across our state are set to rise anywhere from 30% to 300%. And Congress has less than 40 days to extend the Affordable Care Act tax credits that help many families across the state afford lifesaving care. I’m proud to have signed on to a discharge petition earlier this week that would force a vote to extend these ACA tax credits and prevent tens of thousands of Coloradans from losing their health insurance. It’s long past time Republicans lawmakers see the writing on the wall and get on board.
