Dear Friends,
As many of you know, Colorado is home to 30 Federal scientific labs — including many in the 2nd District. From National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration in Boulder, to the Cooperative Institute for Research in the Atmosphere (CIRA) in Fort Collins, and the National Renewable Energy Technology Center in Superior, these labs are engaged in world renowned research and are a significant contributor to our state’s community. That’s why I was so proud to help ensure that the recently enacted Inflation Reduction Act included a significant, billion-dollars investment in our labs and research facilities.
Last week, we welcomed the Speaker of the U.S. House of Representatives to one of these labs, the National Center for Atmospheric Research (NCAR). After we toured the facility, we were joined by scientists and researchers for a roundtable discussion on the impacts the Inflation Reduction Act will have on scientific research and innovation throughout the country.
Colorado’s nationally-renowned federal labs are a key driver of economic growth for our state, and we are now making significant investments in scientific research and clean energy that will benefit Colorado and our country for decades to come.
