Dear Neighbor, With so much going on around us, I wanted to begin our newsletter this week by thanking the firefighters bravely battling the Crosho Fire in southern Routt County. Please know, our office is working closely with local and state officials and will continue to support their efforts.  If you or a loved one lives in the impacted area, please visit Routt County’s Emergency Management webpage HERE for updated evacuation zones and additional resources. Our entire community is keeping our neighbors and fellow District 2 constituents in Yampa, Oak Creek, Phippsburg and beyond in our thoughts and will be there to support them every step of the way. 👉 Click on the following photo to read the article for more information.

Dear Neighbor,

With so much going on around us, I wanted to begin our newsletter this week by thanking the firefighters bravely battling the Crosho Fire in southern Routt County.

Turning to the scenes we’ve seen coming out of Washington, D.C., this past week. Like many of you, I’m outraged by the Trump administration’s decision to mobilize and deploy the National Guard on the streets of our nation’s capital. The administration’s actions are, in my view, a blatant and dangerous power grab.

TRANSPARENCY, OVERSIGHT, AND ACCOUNTABILITY MATTERS

On Monday, I joined my colleagues in an oversight visit to the ICE detention facility in Aurora. The Trump administration’s mass deportation policies are wreaking havoc in our communities — and real oversight matters more than ever. We must continue to exercise our constitutional authority to prevent abuses, protect human rights, ensure transparency, and stand up for the rule of law.

WHAT ELSE HAVE WE BEEN WORKING ON?

  • 🎒Happy Back-To-School Week, Colorado! As a proud product of Colorado’s public schools, I’m grateful to the many educators who are serving our community. As we take a moment to thank them for their hard work, we also recommit ourselves to fighting back against attacks on the Department of Education. Check out my video HERE!

  • 🎞️ ICYMI: I’m proud to have hosted 14 town-halls in the past 7 months — more than most Members of Congress in the country. I’ll keep showing up and standing up — for the Western Slope, Northern Colorado, and every corner of our great district! Watch our recap Reel on Instagram HERE!

Should you need any assistance from our office, please do not hesitate to reach out.

Please stay safe, stay healthy, and stay hopeful!

Sincerely,

Joe Neguse Signature
