Dear Neighbor,
As we gather for Thanksgiving, I’ve been grateful to be back home this past week and out in the community — and to be joined by my wonderful daughter Natalie while out on the road (as she was on Thanksgiving break!) During the holidays, it’s important to remind ourselves that service should not pause for a season, rather, we should take stock of what we’re grateful for and make the most of any opportunity to roll up our sleeves and support the people who serve our communities year-round — from first responders to food bank volunteers.
Which is why, on Wednesday, I was proud to spend time at Coal Creek Meals on Wheels in Lafayette, helping serve Thanksgiving lunch. I’m so thankful for the hardworking staff and volunteers whose compassion and service bring comfort and joy to our community during the holiday season.
